Logging into the site allows you to edit the pages that you own.
Use the login form just over there >>>>>
Once you are logged in just navigate the the page that you want to edit or area for new pages to be created. New icons will appear at the top of the pages to allow the creation of new items and the editing of existing items. The edit tools for text are fairly intuitive - images are a bit more tricky.
Text:
Typing text direclty into the editing window is fairly straight forward, but a few important points to note.
Only paste text from something like notepad into the editing window. If you paste directly from Word or other word processing applicaiton the HTML gets messed up.
Things like headings and other styles and formats should be applied using the drop-down menus in the main editor. The built in "look" for the website takes care of the font, size, colour etc.
Bullet lists (like this one) and other special effects should be initiated from the editor.
Images:
If you want to add your own images to pages you will need to (at this point) email them to the webmaster (
) to be placed in the site images folder - then use the insert/edit image button in the item editor to place the image and link to its URL. The URL can be obtained by navigating to the image in another browser window and copying the image web address location from the browser address bar.
Example: The URL for this image is in the browser address bar - contact details for St Thomas's - here (new window)
Tech stuff:
Notice how the "www" has been removed from the site address - this is to avoid the bug problems in JAVA connected to the clever stuff that allows you to edit pages.
