Heptonstall Hurriers are a handful of fell-running enthusiasts who live in the village. We are not an FRA affiliated club, but simply a group of friends who enjoy running in the hills locally, meeting on a Friday (and other times by arrangement) for runs of between 45 minutes and an hour and a half. Usual meeting time is 6.30pm in the Weavers’ Square, or 7pm in the summer. Absolutely anyone is welcome to join us whenever they wish. We are not a particularly competitive bunch and will always go at the pace of the slowest runner. The only formalised race entry we have in the fell-running calendar is an annual mixed team entry to the Calderdale Way Relay in December (12 people), although some of us are also members of the Calder Valley Fell Runners.
