Opened in March 2009 Towngate Tea Room & Deli is a family run business, owned and run by Marianne and husband Steve with the help of their daughter Amy and this year the new recruit is her brother Bruce.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, the tea room converts into a bistro serving fresh, modern food. The menu varies, but typical food is given below. Booking advised.
Marianne and Bruce have worked in hospitality and catering most of their working lives and are thrilled to have the opportunity to work in such a lovely enviroment doing what they are most passionate about.
In our cosy tearoom we pride ourselves on preparing and serving a delicious and extensive menu of generous portions and using the freshest, locally produced ingredients. We cater for all dietary requirements and preferences.
Everything is cooked and baked on site from paté to pies, quiches, speciality soups, varied take home meals and of course our huge selection of homemade cakes, tarts, cupcakes and other delights.The tearoom has a capacity of 30 over two tastefully decorated rooms. Our feature room can be booked for private functions, meetings and social events and with its oak panelling, stone floor and fireplace it is intimate and cosy.
