What a wise decision it was to shut Towngate.The atmosphere was great today (much helped by the lovely weather), but I think the road closure gave the village a more relaxed atmosphere. Nice to be able to wander up and down the road, without being disturbed by traffic. Much safer for all concerned, including the kids, pets and drunks (I’m mentioning noooo names – hehe!)
